Hi, I'm Marie and I am a co-founder of this society.
Although 100% English, I have Irish danced for 15 years with the Linda Fryday Academy in Kent. I have competed in both the Great British Championships and World Championships as a solo, ceili and figure dancer. I've traveled all over for Irish Dancing including Ireland, Barcelona and Vienna.
My job, with Laura, is to oversee our friendly exec, teach the classes, choreograph for performances and to come up with exciting ideas of things for us to do.
If you have any suggestions or any questions please contact me either during class or via my email: m.g.cannon@warwick.ac.uk. I hope you have fun dancing with us!

Laura Clarke

Hey, I’m Laura and I’m a second year history student.
I started Irish dancing when I was seven years old and have been addicted to it ever since! I’m a championship dancer and have competed at a high level in the Great Britain and British National Championships as well as the World Championships, for which I had to be in the top group of Southern English dancers to achieve a qualifying place.
I love competing as well as performing and have danced at functions, carnivals and even on TV! I’m approachable and patient and am here to help whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience.
Our society aims to be a friendly and lively place. We look forward to meeting you all and giving you the opportunity to share in the fun of Irish dancing in the coming year!
